Local Interests

1. Scenic Float Trips in Cooper Landing

    By Alaska Rivers Company-(907) 595-1226

Scenic Kenai river rafting and float trips

2. Glacier and wildlife viewing

Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise (out of Seward)-(877) 777-4051 (I’ve done this cruise many times myself and I’ve loved it every time. This trip is great in every month. I recommend the National Park Tour that departs at 11:30, cruises to Holgate Glacier and returns at 5:30. This will give you time to have breakfast and a

leisurely drive to Seward in the morning and there’s enough time when you get back to have a quiet dinner at Ray’s Waterfront Restaurant. I recommend reservations for Ray’s and do request a window table so you can see the sea lions or sea otters if they swim by.

This is a US forest service trail that is a nice, free hike to an overlook platform viewing the

Russian River Falls where salmon can be seen jumping the falls. The trail is about 2.5 miles    long (one way) and is an easy walk. Go to the top of the driveway, turn right, go 4 miles and

turn left into the Russian River campground. Follow the back road to the trailhead which will be

on the left.
